Sensitization Workshop for Media Personnel on the Issues of Single Women

WHR with the support of European Union organized a half day "Sensitization Workshop for Media Personnel on the Issues of Single Women (Widows)" at its Central Office, Baluwatar on 27^th October, 2009.

WHR organized protest rally against Government's incentive

WHR organized a protest rally with at least 1500 single women on 10th August, 2009, Monday, to pressurize the government on withdrawing the policy and to come up with policies that are necessary for single women such as social security schemes which will help them to live lives with dignity.

WHR Organized "Ladies Motorbike Rally" on 8th August, 2009

WHR organized a "Ladies Motorbike Rally", a fundraising event on 8th August, 2009 in association with Castrol. The rally consisted of 50 women participants.

WHR Celebrated 5th International Widows' Day on 23rd June, 2009

WHR organized a program in the heart of Kathmandu at Basantapur, Shiva Parbati Dabali marking the 5th International Widows' Day in order to address the issues of single women (widows) and sensitize the stakeholders and public about the strengths of widows.

Rally organized to mark 99th International Women’s Day

To mark the 99th International Women’s Day, WHR organized a rally 7th March from Maitighar Mandala-Buddhanagar-Ghattekulo to the head office of WHR at Baluwatar. The theme for this year celebration was “Ascertaining the rights of single women through democratic constitution”.

Way forward for SANWED

SANWED, an advocating network of WHR organized a conference titled “WAY FORWARD FOR SANWED” at Hotel Radisson dated 4th December with the support from the Embassy of Denmark.

Program to honor aged single women

On the occasion of International Widows Day 23 June, 2008 WHR will be honoring 6 single women from Surkhet district.
