WHR Organized "Ladies Motorbike Rally" on 8th August, 2009

WHR is planning to construct Chhahari, ?A Safe Space?, for the vulnerable and needy single women who are traumatized and have no support system for survival. Chhahari is a secure space for vulnerable, conflict affected single women to convene and network, build their self confidence and skills. This will be achieved through various capacity building programs, counseling and skill development training.
WHR organized a "Ladies Motorbike Rally", a fundraising event on 8th August, 2009 in association with Castrol. The rally consisted of 50 women participants.
The rally started from Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikuti Mandap. The event was inaugurated by Ram Kumari Jhankri, Youth Student Leader. It ended at Park Village Resort, Budhanilkantha. WHR had organized a lunch program to all the participants and guests of the rally. The certificate of participation was awarded to all the participants of the rally by the chief guest, Sharad Singh Bhandari, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation at Park Village Resort.
Shrijana Shrestha, Sabina Maharjan and Anju Nakarmi secured the first, second and third position in the rally respectively. The chief guest handed the trophy, certificate and gift hampers to the top three winners of the rally. Castrol also provided gifts to the participants securing top ten positions in the rally.
