WHR’s Peace Activism

Given the current political situation and the conflict transformation process the country has been going through, WHR has been working in the area of peace activism for quite sometime.

  • WHR has translated the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 into Nepali.
  • WHR has published a Peace Manual, with UN SCR 1325 and CEDAW as base, which shall be used to train single women (widows) and other community member on vital issues like Constituent Assembly, Social Inclusion, UN SCR 1325 and political participation of women in conflict transformation and peace process.
  • WHR is also in the process of training peace cadres at the district level which will then take the issues of women in peace to their communities
  • WHR has also been working for constitutional reform and justice.
  • WHR has been advocating for increased participation of single women (widows) at the decision making levels.
