WHR’s Networking and Legal Cell

This division of WHR builds network with other partner GO’s, NGO’s and INGO’s to lobby for issues concerning single women (widows). Networking is also in charge of regular WHR publications.

The major objectives of Networking are:

  • To set up a network on Single Women, bringing organizations working on Single Women together for focused actions.
  • To encourage discussions on issues/policies related to single women that need to be addressed by different stakeholders and come up with action plans.
  • To widely disseminate information on single women to concerned stakeholders.
  • To advocate and lobby with the government for ensuring the rights of single women, through a network.

LEGAL CELL:

The legal cell is in charge of documenting and follow through of legal cases of single women (widows). Recently Urbasi Niraula was honored for solving 124 cases of single women (widows) in the span of a year.
