What is the Opportunity Fund?

Opportunity Fund (O Fund) was created to help those single women (widows) who are at risk to poverty, discrimination, violence e.t.c and to empower them by empowering their own lives and that of their children’s, through education and skill training for income generating activities. The focus and priority however is on education through formal and non formal channels.

Goal

To bring positive changes in the lives of single women (widows) and their children by empowering them through education and training on income generating schemes.

Fund collection methods CONTRIBUTION BOX

This is the box for the collection of money by an individual, members of WHR and organizations for the scholarship of the children of single women. Per day Rs. 3 is collected which amount to Rs. 1000 at the end of the year. This money is used for the scholarship of one child. This opportunity fund box is available at office of WHR.

BOOKS and CD’S

The purchase of any of the WHR books, docudramas, DVD’s or CD’s will also go straight to O Fund collection
