


“Raahat” which means “Relief” in Nepali aims to empower and reintegrate conflict affected women (CAW) and their family from traumatic experiences. Raahat has been supporting them through various services like providing psycho-social counselling, legal aid, scholarship, skill development training and micro credit loans for income generating activities. Raahat has also developed a legal tool kit, which contains information regarding provisions for conflict-affected people.
- Raahat supports displaced conflict affected women (CAW), their children & family through holistic approach of integration model.
- Empowerment and rehabilitation of the conflict affected women from the traumatized experiences by supporting in many aspects from rights based approach.
-Conflict affected women have organized in groups and able to raise their concern.
- Vulnerable conflict affected women have been protected from being involved in informal sectors.
- Legal awareness among conflict affected women has increased and many victims have received legal services.
- Conflict affected women have been economically independent through income generating skills.
- Raahat has supported for the education of children of conflict affected women.
- Most importantly Raahat facilitates between concerned Ministries of Nepal Government and the single women of conflict victims on receiving compensation, pension and other relevant services.
Raahat is also in a network of Gender and Transitional Justice in Nepal organized by OHCHR, ICTJ and Advocacy Forum and other local NGOs which exchange and work together for women’s consultation and including gender perspectives of justice in the process of transitional phase of our country.
Raahat has developed a legal toolkit which has detail information about conflict affected women, initiations from the government agencies for CAW, Transitional Justice, list of international agencies supporting and legal counselling conflict affected and displaced women, measures to be taken in case of violence and justice, national and International mechanisms and instruments for CAW and about the activities that Raahat has been doing to mitigate and provide legal services to the CAW.
